Dear Parents and Guardians,

This letter is being sent to inform you that the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) position at your student’s school will be vacant starting on Monday November 3rd.  Your student has been receiving his/her IEP services from the start of the year until now and will continue receiving those services once the position has been filled. In the event that the vacancy has impacted your student’s IEP services or his or her progress on their IEP goals, an IEP team meeting will be scheduled to determine if your student requires any additional remediation services.  

We have been working with local staffing agencies and our KCS HR department to fill this position as quickly as possible.  We will inform you once a new SLP has been hired.
