Accessing the Growth and Achievement Selections Page

Before logging in to the selection tool, you can review your options on the REA Department’s (Current Year) Growth and Achievement Selections page. This is found on the district website under:

  • Go to the REA Department’s Home Page
  • Log into the secure site by selecting Account->Sign in in the upper-right-hand corner
  • A new screen will open prompting you for your active directory username (employee #) and password (the same as your email password)
  • Once you’ve logged on to the intranet and accessed the REA Department’s page, click on the (Current Year) Growth and Achievement Selections link on the left-hand menu.

The following pages on the REA website are only informational. You can click through and review your options here, but your selections are not being recorded.

In order to submit your selections, you will need to log in to the KCS Selection Tool. This is hosted through a secure server.

Once you have accessed the Growth and Achievement Selections page, please read through the information posted at the top of the page. If you scroll down, you will see a list of positions.

  • These links will take you to the available growth and achievement measures for the associated position.
  • Most core curriculum teachers should pick the first option, “Elementary (Departmentalized and/or Grade 4-5); Middle (Core); High (Core).”
  • Once you select your position from the listed options, the growth measures available for that position are displayed (Any teacher can select Overall TVAAS).

Achievement Level Options

Achievement options are organized by school level: Elementary, Middle, High, or Multiple Levels. Use the Multiple Levels option if you serve several grade bands.

Available Achievement Measures

Once you click on the Achievement Options, you can review the available achievement measures for your position. You should select a measure that is associated with your daily work and/or teaching schedule.

Achievement Measure Scales

Scroll below the summative score components and you’ll find a document viewer displaying the scoring scales for achievement measures. Take special note of the scoring scales, as these are the scales used to calculate your achievement measures. The scales can also be found in the Growth & Achievement Matrix.

Growth and Achievement Matrix

The entire Growth & Achievement Matrix can also be downloaded at the bottom of the screen.

Selection Tool
