The following shall be adhered to in administering a student club/activities program:

  1. Only clubs or student activities approved by the principal will be considered as school sponsored
    and allowed to operate using the name of the Board of Education or the school’s name. Nonschool sponsored clubs or student activities shall not conduct their activities on school property
    without prior permission from the principal.
  2. All school sponsored clubs/student activities must have a faculty sponsor in order to be approved
    as school sponsored.
  3. All student activities/clubs, to include their scheduled meeting times, whether before, during, or
    after school hours, must have the approval of the principal.
  4. Student activities/clubs occurring before or after regularly scheduled school hours, must be made known to the principal.
  5. No student shall be required to attend a school-sponsored student activity that is scheduled at a
    time which conflicts with the student’s religious practices.
  6. Student groups shall not participate in state or national activities which are not listed as approved activities by regional accrediting associations or state and national principals' associations without the approval of the Superintendent.
  7. A student on out-of-school suspension shall not be permitted to participate in school-associated
    or school-sponsored activities.
  8. Activities which restrict participation because of race, color, religion, sex, disabilities, or national
    origin are forbidden.
  9. Schools shall include a listing of all extracurricular clubs and activities in the school’s student
    handbook and on the school’s website. The listing shall include the various organizations’ mission
    statements and any associated fees.
  10. A parent and/or legal guardian must provide a dated written consent before a minor student is
    allowed to become a member of an extracurricular club or organization or participate in any
    extracurricular activities of a club or organization.
