hi knox county teachers my name is jennifer vosik and i currently serve as the 7th grade assistant principal at vine middle magnet school i have previously served as a tpac instructional coach at bearden high school and an english teacher at fulton high school today i will provide a brief step-by-step tutorial on how you can access canvas as a teacher canvas is the learning management system used by teachers and students across our district through this online platform teachers can create assignments assessments discussions and collaborations for student learning so let's jump in so you have your computer in front of you you're ready to access canvas now what i will start to go through the steps of how you will do that so first you will access google chrome once you have found google chrome you will click on it to open your web browser once you have opened your web browser you will navigate to the knox county school district website at www.not once you are on the knox county district website you will look up at the top where you see the word staff and then you will scroll over to online services and you will click canvas once you're directed to this page which is the canvas discovery link page you will click the blue box entitled students and teachers canvas auto login you will then type in your knox county school's email address and username password and click sign in you can also opt to say sign in stay signed in if you would like to that's your preference once you have clicked sign in you will now see your canvas dashboard your canvas dashboard is the interface will you where you will see all of the courses that you are enrolled in perhaps as a student you might be enrolled in kcs connect 101 or you might be enrolled in a staff development page in your school you will also see on your dashboard all of the courses that you will manage for your students as a teacher once you have followed the steps that i have just went over you will be able to successfully access canvas i'd like to also provide a few final tips and tricks for accessing canvas the first is that while you can use safari and other web browsers for canvas google chrome is the one that works most effectively if you're unsure how to access chrome please reach out to your building level tech support person for assistance furthermore each school in knox county has a team of staff members that are dedicated to supporting you with technology your ostr or on-site tech resource person is here to support you please reach out to your to your ostr for additional support as a final tip you will want to make sure that you are accessing canvas through the district's webpage as opposed to googling canvas just to make sure you're in the right place the same goes for students when they are accessing canvas thank you for your dedication to the students in knox county i wish you a successful year please feel free to reach out to me with any comments questions or feedback via email at jennifer.vasicvac knock schools dot org thank you
