Okay so we've offered feedback on discussions but now we want to go in and look at our quiz that we actually had I'm about to show you all some of my very favorite features that exist inside of canvas.
If you will select grades there on the left hand side this will actually take you into our Gradebook and what you'll be able to see in here once it loads. First I did take the time to come up here where it says view, select the little arrow and arranged by assignment name a to Z. If you do it in the default order it's in the order they were created and I think that will be challenging. But, if you will do it assignment 8 as they it will put everything in order. The second thing you can see as we scroll down here when there's a dash that means someone has not submitted it. If there's an X in this case this means it hasn't been graded. And if there's the checkmark that means it has been marked as complete. And so what I want to do this actually was our overview and it was basically an ungraded quiz and so I will be very honest I am NOT gonna dig into all of those different roles to see how people did it I am just gonna click right here for example in McGee's Gradebook. I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna give her a check because this has been completed. I'm gonna continue doing that for every person because this is not something that I actually need to read. It's more of something that I wanted to think more about additionally you will notice that I have a grade for this quiz as well. I have added myself a second time not only as the teacher but also as a student so that I too can participate in the learning.
The other thing that is probably one of my very favorite features is if you come right here and go to the three little dots the options once we select it we can message students that haven't submitted it yet and it will automatically pick up all the names and we can say just a reminder to complete the quiz prior to our check-in thanks and see you soon. And this information as soon as I hit Send will go directly to each of those students in my class. The other thing that will happen in here, and this one is not a great example because it's one of the new quizzes, when you go to speed grader it will actually load the quiz here in the left area. And what you can do is you can see here on the right hand side where I have already graded some of my students and where others still need to submit. And so I will be able to go in check the various items I've marked Micki as complete. Like I said usually this loads because this is a connector feature with the new quiz. If they do not load as readily you can also, if you would like, you can type in some comments great job and you can add any attachment. You could even record yourself if you would like to as well as let it type for you by selecting the speech recognition.
So those are some of my favorite Gradebook features and when you're ready to hop back into the Gradebook we just click back into the upper left-hand side. It is because I didn't hit the blue button for submit there it is not gonna send Micki but statement that I just made but now I can hop back into the Gradebook. Hopefully that helps you get organized.
