In this video, we're going to accomplish two things. We're going to look at creating a team's meeting from an event within our account Microsoft Outlook calendar. And we're going to identify how to locate that link and send it to other people or attach it wherever we want it to be attached to.
So within my Microsoft Thank you. Outlook, I have left my mail tab and now I'm in my calendar tab. If I click new event, I get the same options if you've ever created an event before, but I'm going to create one. Meaning if I want to attach specific people, I can attach the attendees. But for this purpose, I'm just going to go here where it says Teams meeting. I'm going to flip that switch on and now when I click save, this meeting is going to have a Teams link or a Teams meeting attached with it.
I'm going to change the time from noon, have this meeting run from one o'clock to two p.m. I'm going to go ahead and click save. And you'll see now over here for my day, this Teams meeting has been created and you can see there's the name of the meeting I just created with the Microsoft Teams meeting attached to it. Okay, if I click on it, it makes it very easy for us on our end. We can just click that join button. I'm buttoned in anybody that we've attached to this meeting has that join button where they can join the Teams meeting directly from their calendar. However, if I want to get this link, I need to expand. And then now I get these different options down here at the bottom, right? I get the passcode, the meeting ID. But what I really want is this link right here. So if I highlight it and command copy, then X out of this.
And let's say that I wanted to send it to someone else that I hadn't attached to the meeting where I wanted to post that. I now have it copied for just this purpose is I'm going to show you if I go to mail. You New mail and I'm going to send it as an email. So you kind of get the gist of what's happening here. I'm going to send it to myself. I'm going to paste that link Click here to join meeting. There's the link. I'm going to go ahead and send that to myself. Hopefully it'll pop up here. Okay, there it is. And so now when I click this, it's going to go ahead and launch the Teams window so I can join that. So that link found by expanding your event, this link, click here to join the meeting. I can copy that and paste it anywhere I want and that way it gives whoever I need to have access to. The meeting, the ability to click on it and join it.
