Rub and Reveal

What and Why?

Rub and Reveal is a fun way to increase engagement in any lesson. I like to think of it as a virtual scratch-off ticket. Rub and Reveal activities are quick and easy to make in the Promethean Whiteboard App. 

How?

The first step is to locate the resource you wish to use. It is important that the answers or items you wish to hide from your students are included in the graphic. 

Example: 

You may display the image through a connected device or through the ActivPanel internet browser, Chromium. 

Now that you have your resource. Open the menu and click on Capture. Crop the image by dragging the corners. After cropping click Done and Open in Whiteboard. 

Now that your resource is in the Whiteboard, select the pen tool and choose a color to match the background of your resource. In my example the background is white, so I will select the white color for my pen. Use the pen to cover up any items you wish to hide from your students.

Now that content is hidden from your students, you can switch to the eraser at any time to reveal what is underneath. You could even have students write on your image before erasing to check their work.
